#AsylumforAderonke – March to Hand in Petition (Liverpool)

About 30 supporters from Manchester and Liverpool (and Wales!) marched to the Home Office in Liverpool to hand in the 24,000+ signatures calling for Aderonke to be granted asylum in the UK.

The march started from Liverpool Lime Street and made its way through the busy shopping district, shouting ‘No Borders, No Nations! Stop Deportations!’ and ‘Asylum for Aderonke!’. We made it to the Home Office where the security denied entry or even the possibility of having a Home Office official come to receive the petition. After much persistence, someone came out to accept the petition.

The weather was beautiful and so were the people. We want to thank everyone that came out to be loud and colourful for Aderonke, as well as those who helped to publicize and support the event behind the scenes.

Update on the case: All the evidence for the High Court was sent to the solicitor on Wednesday 9th April and then submitted by the solicitor on Friday 11th April. We will update in the coming weeks on the progress and outcome of the case.
